The Git Up Challenge Is the Most Positive Summer Viral Trend
Every summer has its burning track, which everyone listens breathtakingly. But this year it’s not only about music and singing, but about dancing too, as #TheGitUpChallenge is becoming more and more viral.
Everything started with one video. On April 19 Blanco Brown posted a video on Instagram, where he was performing a simple line dance to the track “The Git Up”.
Since then #TheGitUpChallenge simply burnt out the Internet. More than 260,000 videos were posted only on TikTok, disregarding YouTube and Instagram.
And every day more and more internet users are participating in #TheGitUpChallenge.
People perform dance movements, like Blanco Brown, concocting new variations to the original moves, and upload videos to social networks, tagging them with hashtags #GitUp, #TheGitUpChallenge, and #TheGitUp.
After releasing on April 26, “The Git Up” track featured at No. 1 on the influential streaming services Global Viral 50 and U.S. Viral 50 charts.
On Nielsen’s digital songs charts the track reached No. 63 but debuted at No. 132 a week earlier. “The Git Up” was considered as the “sequel” to Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road”, which also became viral country rap song.
Blanco Brown said that when he had recorded “The Git Up” the singer had felt this energy around and it had made him happy. Then, this energy connected people around the world.
But this challenge even was used for very glorious purposes.
For example, the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office participated in this challenge in order to fill jobs at this police service department.
The video with many policemen, who were showing off their “Git Up Challenge” dance moves, gained a lot of attention on Facebook. It has been seen more than 2000 times only for one day.
Deputy Jason Boyer said that the office tried to involve a wider range of applicants. And this was resultative: there were a lot of calls about applications.
Also, this challenge was used by The Sunmark Charitable Community Foundation. Their staff recorded video with dance, uploaded it to social networks and would donate $1 to the music therapy program for every comment, like, or share!
Blanco Brown is an American country rap singer and producer. He has worked with Chris Brown and Pitbull. “The Git Up” is his first single. In June 2019, Brown debuted on the Billboard charts, appearing at No. 41 on Emerging Artists.
Brown also posted a video with country artist Lainey Wilson on YouTube, when they taught people, how to dance to “The Git Up”. It has been already viewed more than 8 million times.
As for every challenge, no matter how old you are and where you live, it’s a huge dose of fun and joy.
And have you already participated in this challenge? Do you like “The Git Up” track?
