Almost everyone has a camera in a pocket nowadays. And modern smartphones are able to take really worthy photos, even to such an extent, that there are special competitions for photographers, who use a .

One of such contests is the IPPAWARDS, which is held annually among both professionals and amateurs photographers. The contest jury selected the best pictures of the year taken on iPhone.

Every iPhone user could participate in the contest. But the photo should not be published previously, despite the owner’s personal accounts.

Several days ago winners of the 2019 iPhone Awards were announced. They were chosen among thousands of photographers from over 140 countries around the world.

23-year-old Italian photographer Gabriella Ciliano is the winner of the project and photographer of the year.

She shot a photo of a young girl with a child on iPhone X while traveling through Africa.


Portuguese Diogo Lage won the 1st place with his photo ‘Sea Stripes’.


Juliya Ibraeva (Moscow, Russia) took the 2nd place with photo ‘Sorry, no movie today’.


Peng Hao of Sichuan, China rounded out top three with photo ‘Come Across’.

The winners are representatives of many countries around the world including Australia, Bahrain, Belarus, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Peru, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
